Not too long ago our options for patio furniture were very limited, and usually involved some sort of matchy-matchy set of metal or plastic and a table with an umbrella hole in the middle of it. Luckily, new ways of weatherproofing and new-found attention being paid to outdoor areas has opened up the options to all sorts of furniture styles. Lets take a look at how Houzz designers are mixing, matching and upholstering to provide neat outdoor spots to sit, lounge, visit and eat.

| A number of eclectic pieces add interest and distract from the small size of this patio. While the wrought iron chairs and Chinese Chippendale garden bench are traditional pieces, the paint color choices and throwing them together with that interesting table give it an eclectic look. This person is also a patio-er after my own heart, as they've added a funny little gnome as an accent piece! |
