chair rail maybe for dining room?
I like the way the built in seems part of the wall.
DON'T like this.
If this is how dining room pass through is to be, I'm not sure I'm liking that.
Maybe the pass through b/w kitchen and dining room should look more like transem window??
I like this layout of built-ins around the dining room door. Obviously, ours won't be a semi-circle.
detail on the built-ins surrounding the door
Dislike the look of the 2 cabinets flanking the door. Something more a part of the wall would be better for our situation
I like the bookcases flanking the door. But maybe more appropriate for living room?
Like this cabinetry/shelving/paneling concept.
What about sliders with transom windows?
Don't care for these.
This built-in is kind of neat. It has shelves yet is still open at the bottom such that you could set hot food etc. You could use the shelving for books but also dining room stuff and the closed lower cabinetry is a good place to tuck things that don't display well.
I really like the window above the door to let light in . . especially if we end up using solid sliders.
So is the entire dining room wall in our plan shelving? Not sure I like that . .
I don't care for the paneling at the top.
LIKE this opening. I don't think I want to mess with the beauty of the trim by complicating it with the cabinetry. Maybe there needs to be wall space to the right and left of the doorway and then cabinetry.
In this example, I'm not loving the lower cabinets under the book cases.
I like the look of the painted cabinets; however, I worry about locking in a color palate in the dining room.
This could be pretty with a bracket connecting upper and lower. Maybe more like a bookcase on top.
Could this be done in that narrow space in between the dining room windows? Seat with bookcase?
How about a taller more narrow piece like this with bookcases extending to ceiling on both sides of door leading to kitchen?
DON'T like the paneling here b/c it's too short.
I like the pocket door and glass above
notice the yellow cabinet. how might this look as a corner cabinet?
What might this type of hutch (center) look like as a corner piece in the dining room?
note this closet. What about something like this as a corner cabinet in dining room?
Note the storage closets. dining room??
DON'T like this corner built-in. What to do in the d.r. for storage??
pretty cabinetry and trim at ceiling
I like aspects of these cabinets.
I sort of like that built-in. The way the cabinet flows into the ceiling trim is pretty.
How about a really tall but not especially deep piece at the end of the table? Need space for vases, silver, linens . . open shelving maybe not the best for this??
I do like the darker cream painted cabinetry with all the white wood. that's pretty and possibly choosing more elegant cabinetry would keep the built-in from looking too country/traditional
paneling. not sure I like the small end cap, though
I like the paneling and how it wraps into the fireplace. Note paneling for dining room and mud room?
I like the paneling. The mantel and surround are also pretty. Would prefer surround to come to floor given our situation.
Cabinetry. Maybe the drawers could have more modern pulls??
Built in is pretty
