Leslie and I have been to Germany several times. We like the concept of the Wintergarden that they have over there, which is a room which is mostly windows, to let in as much light as possible, on account of their harsh and dark winters. We'd like to have a room that expresses that concept.
It would be great to have a "winter garden" adjacent to the main family area with maximum viewing space and visibility. Not the right style and too rustic, but this is the concept.
This works okay. Lots of views and not too rustic. However, I'd like more light coming in, which means the windows would need to go higher.
This is also very nice. No need for a fireplace here, and it maximizes views without being overly rustic. Needs more vertical space.
Not enough light. Ceiling may be too low.
Wood, floors, viewing space are very nice. Would not want ceilings to be this high.
The windows and the views. Floor is okay. Otherwise too much vertical space.
Great viewing. Ceiling may be too high. The semicircle window works for me.
