As far as stone - make sure you know how porous the stone is before sealing - this will help you determine what quality sealer to use and whether or not to use the stone in certain areas. Sealers can range from a couple dollars a pint to upwards of $80!

- sandrasilberman - I installed a ceramic tile backsplash in my bathroom and a glass mosaic tile backsplash in my kitchen and both have held up equally well and are equally easy to clean and care for. Whichever tile you go with you should just make sure to seal the grout well once it's cured and you shouldn't have any problems with either. If you're seeking opinions... I really like the second (glass) tile. It has more of a modern vibe to it. Good luck!
