I love children's rooms. Though we have only been blessed with boys right now, our hopes are to one day adopt little girls.
I am not sure what it is, but I think its capturing their innocence, love of life, and imagination that makes children's spaces my favorite area to design. When I design a room I always ensure that there is at least one "kid-zone" within each space, even if the design is geared for adults. Children need a place within each room that welcomes them and says, "I love you and you are accepted here. Come in a play for a while."
My kitchen has a coat rack where miniature stainless steel pots and pans hang. A vintage Fisher price table top stove rests on a child sized desk. My boys come in and have picnics or pretend to cook while I am fixing dinner and I love having them next to me!
So whatever your needs, enjoy the ideabook below. There are some wonderful ideas out there to inspire you to make extra room for the little loves of your life!

This sandbox is great...not only is it deep enough for digging, it is also less desirable for a neighborhood cat.
I really like this idea for my boys room. Its a great use of space without it feeling stuffy, often the way I think bunk beds make a room feel. I can see wonderful shelves above each bed for each one of their personal belongings.

I love this creative spin on a toy box. Its soft edges make it toddler friendly and the whimsical design add that extra touch of creative punch!

I love the shoe cubby-turned car station! What a great idea for all of those cars that don't seem to fit into any bin or toybox neatly.

I love the zoning with wording, encouragement to play and create, and the overall feeling of this room. The entrance to the deck is a perfect addition.
