I have to say that I’m disappointed that there’s so little overlap, between what designers consider “creative & practical”, and what I’d consider practical! How much does that notepaper from Japan cost .. 50 sheets that look like tissue paper? $70 for a concrete pen, $35 for a vintage style wire tray? I do love the leaf sticky-notes!
As someone on a budget, I can appreciate your comment. And although I tried to offer a range of items, I freely admit that this collection was designed to inspire. I can understand your not wanting to splurge on a $70 pen, so the $5 pencils might be for you. But I know writers and artists for whom the gift of such a pen might be welcome indeed. But the main point of a collection like this is to get people to rethink there work space, not merely as a functional and practical space, but most importantly as a place of inspiration.

PS - since many items, like the wire tray, are inspired by vintage designs, you can probably find similar items at you local flea. :)
