When not in use, corners can be lost opportunities to display something beautiful or serve a needed function. I'm not advising that you put each corner in a room to use, but I do find that a space becomes more interesting when corners are furnished in a clever way.

Add a custom banquette. Odd cutouts in a room call for creative solutions. Here the designer took advantage of the dual windows and created a dining area with a view. If the homeowner decides to change the location of the dining space, the table is removed to reveal the perfect window seat.

Create a time-out corner for adults. When your house is chaotic (translation: full of children or teens) a calm corner can help you decompress. This time spent in solitude works wonders for adults just as it does for little ones. Rx: The duration of your time-out is one minute per year of age. Enjoy.
