Bring in Some Coastal Cottage Style to Your Home

It's starting to get steamy here in Atlanta, and I am dreaming about a breezy cottage on the ocean. The salt air, the smell of the sea, lobster rolls and beach roses are calling my name.
You don't have to be at the beach to get this look. You can change up the look of your own home in the summertime to give yourself some coastal cottage style with a few easy moves. Put your shell collection in a jar and leave it out to enjoy it. Switch up your throw pillows for some blue and white covers, perhaps in a ticking stripe or ikat pattern. Hang a coastal map or nautical chart on the wall. Roll up a heavy wool rug and throw down a sisal one. Spruce up your porch, patio or deck with some tea light lanterns, some weather-proof fabrics, perhaps a porch swing or hammock. Give your home a dose of getaway style. These beautiful homes are full of coastal cottage style and ideas.

Ingridable Design I have always been a Fan of blue and white and my collections are all over the house, and as a homestager I constantly include touches in my staged homes, it always looks fresh and elegant . Also something to keep in mind for a staging project - framed Vintage Swim suits - some Vintage Kids clothing would be neat in a Kids Room

Joan Van Buskirk Gosh you can't beat blue and white for that cottage look but since we had to buy fast and couldn't find anything we liked in bl. and wh. that was affordable, we bought a buffalo check patterned couch in red , gold and I'm working with that. I'm going to throw in some blue in accessories.

olldbobbi Love the blue and white, love the coastal. As an unwillingly transplanted Jersey girl, I miss the shore so this decor really appeals to me. Yes, California has beaches, but they're NOT the same!!!
