Sweater season came early to Alabama this year. Most of the time, our September is basically August 2.0: bright, muggy and oppressively hot. This fall, though, we're being treated to a preview of crisp, cool weather, which usually doesn't hit until Halloween. Recent mornings have been so chilly that we can see our breath outside, and I've been reaching for hot apple cider rather than sweet tea or lemonade.
Although I know we're in for at least one more blast of baking heat, this sneak peek of autumn has me anxious to snuggle into my cardigans and cable knits.
