You see the light but not the fixture. It is functional and is not distracting
shadows and texture
I just really love string lights outside. It makes me feel like I am having quality time
I like how up and down lighting creates a shape and movement at the same time. Like the positive negative images. I am drawn to the light and not the fixture
Spot lighting and bringing out the texture
Fire - it is warm and it provides light. It is cozy and mystical and entrances you. It makes you feel more present to sit around a fire. You feel in the moment.
How is this NOT cool? Talk about form following function!
I like the motion and the glow. They are like the stars and drops of water - lots of little suns
I like the glow - I guess I keep coming back to this. I like cool textures because I like clever designs, but what I like about lighting is the radiance...the "heavenly" glow that Gothic church designers understood so well
I like the sleek and gracefulness here. I am not usually a modern person, but this has a kind of understated elegance or smoothness about it. It certainly isn't warm...it is not energetic either but it has a sense of purpose about it
Natural light, shadowm and stars are just fun! You have this light that draws you through a tunnel. The door is functional as an outside world barrier, but is not a barrier for light. It almost eases you into the next space - a transition
I love the way the light and the negative space draw your eye to the positive space...it is almost light backlighting
I like the cone of light created by down lighting. I also like soffits and recesses with lights. Maybe it makes me feel closer to it?
There is just something about string lights in and hanging from trees...and trees...I love trees, plants, branches, etc. so anything that highlights them is appealing to me
