Houzz Call: Show Us Your Halloween-Themed Entryway

ikwewe It's pouring rain or I would post a picture. I just have some real pumpkins, two flat metal jack o'lanterns as door decorations, and out on our yard lamp posts, we have two giant plastic jack o'lanterns over the lights. We get hardly any kids on Halloween, but at least we and the neighbors enjoy the fun decorations.

hometipster Wow, some really nice creative ideas. Just got to love anyone who is willing to put in that little bit of extra effort and produce something totally unique. Love them all.

olldbobbi My husband bought this very tall doll that he's painting white, and plans to turn it into an Exorcist "Regan" to put on our entryway floor. It scared the living hell out of me when I walked into the garage and she was standing in front of his car, headless. That's just wrong.

pauli12 I found this chair for 5 dollars because a dog had almost completely chewed the rungs off of it ( gotta love em)
I painted it orange and made a wreath for it.
I did the same for this farmers market crate they give away if you ask.

It was fun doing it.

safbham Halloween is my favorite time of year to decorate! I used Owls and Crows and Jack O' Lanterns all poised as if to watch the trick or treaters.. the Cat Eyes in the upper window glowed ominously. I replaced my porch lights and the chandelier candle lights with silicone old fashioned flicker bulbs that glowed orange to add to the enchantingly spooky atmosphere.

retromomma love these inspirations! what a great idea pauli12-i have given away to Goodwill several chairs like that-should have saved one to paint for seasonals. Must hit yard sales again! hope others post! I am trying my hand at the origami bats-will post if they are a success!

lorirobinson Love the season ! But I want to know how people get their gourds, pumpkins and squash to last through Thanksgiving? Mine always mold, rot, get squishy, or get eaten by the deer. Maybe it's my climate? It's pretty cold in Wisconsin in October and November. Any tips would be appreciated!

Kevin L-O-V-E Halloween! Here is what we do with our entry but we do a lot more with the yard. We get nearly 600 trick-or-treaters every year. So fun! We even kept the Halloween decor up till after Christmas one year but added a "Nightmare Before Christmas" look to it all. :)

sarelle23 We are known as the "Halloween House" in our neighborhood. We replace the white bulb on the porch with red, which really glows behind the cobweb at night. The skeleton on the right is on a sensor and makes noise and moves when people walk by. We can see the trick-or-treaters from our kitchen window - if they're young, I answer the door and it's less scary. If they're older, my husband puts on a monster hand and slowly opens the door, scaring the older kids - they love it!

ikwewe Still raining and we are doing yard work in between, but I got a couple of quick pix of my oh-so-simple entry and crazy front yard jack o'lantern lights. The entry pumpkins will probably soon be converted to pumpkin puree for Thanksgiving pies, may not make it to Halloween.

flippingartist This was particularly creepy...decorated with what we had that year. Contractor's clothes stuffed with newspaper. Too scary for the small ones! The other is last year. The eyes in the hole in the stairs are the only thing missed about those old front steps!

tomnkat I saw a person post this on RMS and knew I could do it! I looked for shapes that I liked and sketched them on black fadeless bulletin board paper. Cut them and taped them up! I love them and my daughter starts asking me to put them up on October 1st! They are a hit in the neighborhood!

Jordana Mattos Here are 2 pics, one of my porch and one right inside my front door. My daughter and I had fun drawing ghost faces on the white pumpkins last week and that set our cute "ghost-boo" theme! Inside, the inspiration was two of my favorite characters: Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Gizmo from Gremlins. Love them!

FOCAL POINT STYLING Merging Fall & Halloween decor inside our small entry of our rental home... Inspired by old taverns, I saved and repurposed green glass wine bottles and mixed in rats with existing skull decor. No room for a table - collections displayed on wall mounted floating shelves. Happy Hauntings!

FOCAL POINT STYLING Our front stoop - exterior entry is decorated with a harvest feel, mixed with crows & found branches. Bark wood chips mixed with found pine cones also appeal to the senses: when I open the front door, I can smell the wood, and it smells like Fall! Dripping moss from the found branches adds to an eery effect, along with signs saying: Turn Back! On Oct. 31st, I'll bring outside some skull decor from inside. Happy Hauntings for Halloween!

frenchdecor I don't do scary decoration, just scarecrow (done by kids) and spiders. Love harvest decorations. So many creative ideas, couldn't pick the best. "Harvest entry" will be my sign, never had it before. Good job Focal Point Styling, post some more pictures.

Design & Decor By Shelley Would love to share my decorating idea however, the whole thing was eaten by the wild horses that roam around our neighbourhood..
I decorated the bottom of the drive around my very old wagon wheel, this included dried corn plants and flowers, pumpkins, straw..You know the usual..Woke up the other morning and it was all gone..just a few tops of my corn plants left..
Just thought I would share how I feed the wild horses..

Tori We live in Brisbane Australia and this is our Halloween display this year. We have American cousins who have inspired us to be obsessed with Halloween so we hope you like what us Aussies can do! The 2 trees on the porch steps are actually Lilly Pillies that died so we concreted them into a pot and used them as spooky trees. Have stored them in the shed for next year. The spooky trees at the gate are palm tree seed pods left to dry and tied to the fence with solar fairy lights in them. Always looking to recycle! The graveyard is my favourite though!
