One-of-a-Kind Decor for Above the Bed

Personalize the space above your bed with a gallery of treasured and inspirational pieces in different sizes. So look through the boxes of your stuff you never knew what to do with, and try hanging some of the pieces in a group. Mix and match!

Tip: When I am building a wall display I always lay it out in front of me on the floor, then snap a photo of it so I can keep recalling the original design as I hang it up.

What do you collect? Can it be hung on a wall? The secret is to go big; don't just hang one or two tiny things. For example, one or two of these glass art pieces wouldn't have the same effect as the dozen you see.

Note: If you live in earthquake country, skip heavy objects that could fall off the wall during a shaker.

Art can be anything, if used intentionally. When using small pieces, they look better in a group because that adds more weight. Think outside the box about what you can hang from the wall. A plate collection can be a nice focal point.

For a bold infusion of color, carry the color from the bed up the wall with framed scrapbooking paper from the craft store. Repeating the color over and over in the room creates a strong color theme.

Not looking for adding color, but want drama? Try sculptural art; there are a ton of finishes and shapes to choose from. If it is a small piece, use multiple pieces together. The sculptural cut mirror pieces in this space add glitz creating a rock star room when everything else is neutral.
