@looksmile - She's beautiful! I adore the white toe-tips - Lulu has them, too! Mardigras looks similar to Lulu in build, size, shape of head, etc. just different patterns in the merle markings. Does she have a white patch on her chest like Lulu, too? Lulu was a mellow dog from the get-go - it's just who she is. Sometimes she'll do one crazy loop around the yard and then she's done. We are in Massachusetts, and get a lot of "Cata-what?" And being out and about with her is a great way to meet people with all the usual questions: "What kind of dog? How old? How did she lose her leg?" - if I'm ever lonely I have an easy way of getting people to talk to me. :-)

Cookiepuss62 Mardigras does have the white chest markings as well. When people ask what kind of dog she is , my daughter loves to say she's a cat! They usually don't quite no how to respond. Once a dog trainer asked if she could take her picture to send to someone who was filming a movie and wanted a dog that looked scary! Her eyes can be a bit unsettling until you get to know her. I would say that Mardigras is pretty laid back except when it comes to squirrels and deer which we have plenty. She had a hard time with young boys when we first got her but she seems to be over it. She is the first female dog we have had and she seems a little more independent and sometimes a little more aloof than the male dogs we have had.
If she was at your house she might be little tough on your painted floor as she plays a little rough with my husband and son and her toenails do a number on our hardwood floors.
Speaking of floors, do you have any suggestions for a concrete slab floor in an unheated sunporch. After years of painting it only to have it flake off we have removed the paint and are considering tiling it. If there was a paint that would hold up to winter wet weather we might consider it.
