Okay Elise don't freak out. I only like this because of the arrangement of space, with the table, sitting areas by the windows, and big island. Good for entertaining, yet still comfortable for living day-to-day.

Not very inspired here, but I like it because it reminds me of a well decorate clean Wilson house. ;) Looks like memories can be made in this cozy area. Especially in the backyard.

light boxes at top? Elise might like... I wouldn't have them enclosed, maybe sitting on top of the cabinets with nice lighting showcasing the plates

I would change it up some, but I like the location because it's in a public area, but still has a bit of privacy (i mentioned to Elise recently that I don't think that I want a room dedicated to work because I don't want to be closed off and others closed off from me)
What I would change, I would move the special small window over to the left so that I could look out of it while working.
Obviously I would change it up a little more.
I would replace 3/4 of the right side with dowels/bars so I could look down into the living room
looks like stairs are on left and a look-over into the living room.
