| Americana at its finest, this rustic flooring from Chicago-based Birger Juell is almost like a modern day tribute to the log cabin. Each of these "tiles" is a cross-section from the leftover ends of a tree trunk or branch. Although each round is sanded and then oiled for protection, the natural wearing of the wood still allows for occasional minor splits and cracks, which only adds to the floor's personality.

Re the Fruit Stone flooring, I'm wondering if it could be used in a bath 'n shower environment in lieu of natural stone/ceramic/etc?
I'm not sure of the price for hardwood but there's a laminate plank that mimics this exact look and looks equally as stunning! It's called Urban Loft "Wine & Pine" http://www.inhaussurfaces.com/en/floors/showroom.htm
Anyone wanting that look for less pressure on the wallet should definitely check that one out.
