Even just two or three pumpkins on a table that you can see out a window can brighten an October afternoon. These volunteer pumpkins sprouted from compost added to planting beds last spring. Free decor! Tip: Return pumpkins to the planting bed this winter, so you'll have homegrown pumpkins to play with again next fall.

Succulents are often at their best in fall, when their coral, gold and magenta blooms play off harvest colors. Tip: Anchor your arrangement with a feature plant or pumpkin that has an attention-grabbing shape or color, such as this Japanese red kuri squash. Don't worry about symmetry; instead, balance the center with a casual arrangement of smaller pumpkins, pomegranates and other seasonal fruits and flowers.

When it's time to clear away your tabletop, potted succulents like echeveria and paddle plant (kalanchoe luciae) make great additions to a low-maintenance garden. Hosting a dinner party? Let kids and friends choose a mini pumpkin or baby succulent to take home.

Darzy Thank you Sheila! Pretty, simple and inexpensive ideas. I like your idea of giving children and guests decor to take home. Last year, we had a large pumkin for guests to "guess the pumpkins weight" and everyone puts there guess on a slip of paper. The winner gets to take home the big one.

vineyardflute Really like the simple, yet colorful table displays. The look of succulents with the pumpkins is one I wouldn't have thought of. They pair quite well.

Marina Klima Goldberg - Klima Design Group I am always sad when the outside changes from summer season to fall. I also like to decorate my home with simple and less expensive easy-to-do stuff and make it cozy and welcoming.

Casart Coverings Try sprucing up your stairs for the holidays with removable and reusable Della Robbia stair risers in either white or black background. Use on every riser, every other or alternate the background color. Of course you can apply to many other surfaces and locations-mantels, transoms, windows, trays, table tops-to name a few.

Jordana Mattos These were great "clean" fall decoration ideas, and so simple to make! I was not feeling very inspired to decorate my dinning room table after Halloween, but after seeing these pictures I grabbed somethings around the house and ... Voilà! Happy Thanks Giving!!
