See cabinets flanking the window- glass at top, but all one cabinet. Makes it easier to get that top area to look deeper without doing short, stubby separate top cabinets.

Top cabinets here are 15", bottoms are 33".
9 foot ceiling. They dropped the perimeter and built a soffit 6" deep in order to fit the coffers inside that drop. the cabinets sit 18" above the counters.

Also 9 feet. Notice that the only time they used stacked cabinets was over the cabinets that go all the way down to the counter. otherwise, they have used taller single door cabinets.

42" upper cabinets + 5" crown. Ceiling crown is 9".
