| This large bedroom has such an abundance of color and pattern, how does it possibly all work together?
It helps that the room is large. Two canopy beds are placed side by side with a band of green above them. I had to look closely to see what this was. They are plants! This line of green actually seems to bring balance to the design. And the patterns, where to start? The dot drapes and area rug, the upholstered trunk lids at the foot of the beds, covered with a colorful collection of toys. There are patterned panels placed behind the beds, with yet more color and pattern introduced in the pillows. This is certainly one happy room to wake up in. What lucky kids! |

| A simple modern color palette sets the tone for this cheerful room and the happy spirit is reinforced by a canvas of chickens placed above the crib. A stylized white tree is placed in front of a window, making me ask, "what is it exactly?" A coat rack, a lamp, a sculpture?
The orange wall color is repeated in a rather mod upholstered chair, while a beautiful blue lamp becomes the star of the room. |

| The layout in this room is very interesting given that the space doesn't seem to be that small. A dresser, crib and daybed are all lined up, one after another, in a tight row along the back wall. This arrangement is unlike a more traditional furniture layout, which would have the furniture dispersed about the room.
This unconventional run of furniture works not only because the walls and furniture share a similar color, but due to the addition of the delightful wall decals filling the space above. |
Have you seen this, for an older child, decorated by her sister! http://inmyhousedesign.blogspot.com/2010/06/room-for-teen.html
