Guest Picks: Furniture Feet for Cabinets and More
Try bun feet or furniture legs for intriguing details on lower cabinets, sofas and other furnishings
I have been working on several kitchen and bath projects lately, and one detail that I have noticed making the rounds is the idea of pushing back or removing the toe kick on the front of base cabinetry and adding some sort of foot. I love the look, and over the past couple of weeks I have collected several different styles and sizes of pieces that would work for such an application. — Stephanie from SabbeSpot
Pedestal Corner Bun Foot, Hardwood - $14.06
I am using this in a current bathroom renovation. The base will be completely removed, and these will be added to all four corners.
DuBois LBF45 Turned Bun Foot All Moulding Product - $26
This would be fun painted a glossy and bright color for a play on new versus old.
DuBois BF4-MP Turned Bun Foot - $19
I could imagine jazzing up a piece of Ikea furniture with this one. It's much prettier than a square block.
DuBois BF33 Shaker Style Table Feet - $18
This one is for those pieces that just don't look right on dainty-looking legs. The detail along the top gives it some nice interest.
Grand River Gothic Bun Foot, Hardwood - $8.99
I love the dainty detail on this one.
Pedestal Left Bun Foot - $8.65
This would be great for a kitchen cabinet makeover in which you do not want to actually move any existing parts.
Solid Cherry Winston Bun Feet by Thirteen Colonies - $70
This leg would be nice to give some height to an existing piece. I think it would be fun to paint the bottom portion a different color, giving it the dipped look.
DuBois BF70 Reversible Turned Bun Foot Table Feet - $14.90
Here's a fairly classic leg that has a nice detail at the bottom.
Solid Cherry Large Lexington Bun Feet by Thirteen Colonies - $64
This is just proportionally beautiful.
4-Inch Early American Table Leg - $1.38
This would be another fun painting project. Imagine the rings in different shades and the bottom piece in a metallic gold.
Waddell Hardwood Tulip Bun Foot - $6.98
I like this one because it's large, but it also has very feminine lines.
4-Inch Mixed Maple Classic Bun Feet Wood Table Leg - $5.98
Here's a classic. It would work well on a smaller piece of furniture.
Ball & Claw Corner - $23.05
Ball and claw is classic — but also kind of kitschy. I would love to see a cheap Ikea sofa on a ball and claw foot. It would be an awesome juxtaposition.
Squat Round Bun Foot - $5.09
This one is heavy at the bottom, as opposed to most of the other styles I have collected.
Inch Bird Claw Round Bun Foot - $19.37
Here's another ball and claw, and with a scroll detail at the top. I'm calling it: I think this is going to be a new trend, but in fun, funky colors.
Corner Colonial Ogee Foot - $24.40
I really love this corner style.
Legacy Bun Foot Left Twist Hardwood - $27.99
I love this style in a deep, rich stain.
Bridle Round Bun Foot - $6.95
Here is one more where the majority of the visual weight is at the bottom. Sometimes larger pieces really need this type of style, or they look like the are one use away from breaking the legs.
