simplehuman Triple Shower Dispenser - $69.50 »
You may be ready to take the shower dispenser leap. A lot of people I know swear by these things, especially for families; you wind up taking smaller dollops of shampoo, conditioner and body wash than you would from the bottle (did you know that you really need only about a quarter-size dollop of shampoo?). They also tame those unwieldy megabottles you lug home from Costco.

3. Label, label, label. Make cleaning up as easy as possible by clearly labeling where everything belongs. If you want the bed oom or playroom to stay neat and clean, there's really no way you can go overboard here. Label hooks, bins, shelves and drawers to encourage your children to put things where they belong.

Make sure that your children's play space is out of the way, but still in sight so you can keep an eye on them. This not only helps make for a more secure and comfortable playtime, but it also makes things easier when cleaning or searching for lost toys.

Place a few storage bins in other rooms of the house where your child plays to make cleaning faster and less of a hassle. Having smaller bins will encourage kids to put their toys in when they're done, and take them to their playroom or bedroom later.

Tell us: How have you organized your child's toys? What are your tips for keeping it neat and tidy? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Be sure built-ins are tall enough. Sloped ceilings can cause some height issues, so be sure you can access built-ins without bumping your head. “I advise applying the same the code height for doorways, which is 6 feet, 8 inches to 7 feet, when creating built-ins,” says Schold. “This assures safety when walking around and up to drawers, shelves, hanging clothes etc.”

Don’t forget: Energy efficiency is important for attic spaces. The temperature of your space should be comfortable for you and for proper storage of various items. “Calling in the heat and air guys for their opinions, suggestions and bids should be done up front,” says Schold. “Energy-efficient ideas could alter other plans and be costly down the road if not done correctly off the bat.”

I love this lofty gray flannel headboard made from four simple upholstered panels. If it's possible to be dramatic and understated at the same time, this is it. Coy
