1920's Condo San Mateo: The Main Bathroom
I am currently redoing a condo in a historic 1920's building in San Mateo, California. It's full of period details, however the bathroom and kitchen were updated in the 1980's (ugh). I'm redoing both, and bringing them back to classic 1920's with all the materials. Here are some bathroom ideas.
1920's Subway Tile ~ De rigueur in this type of building.
Subway tiles don't always have to be white!
Basket-weave Subway tile: Try laying your tiles in creative patterns for more visual interest.
Ideas for floor tiles
Cool juxtaposition of styles
Pedestal sink, wainscoting, mosaic tiles on the floor...
Nice celedon Subway tiles in a brick pattern (left wall). Also, the Carrera marble in a hex tile on the floor...
Combo of Carrera marble counter with subway tiles in the shower...plus a black and white motif throughout
Note to self! ;-) Only keep classic items on the counter...
GORRRRGEOUS emerald green...Adding just one color with a black and white scheme can be breathtaking.
Hardware ideas for the bathroom...
This is the sink we currently have in the bathroom. It needs some love, but we could re-chrome the drain, and the fixtures.
This floor is scrumptious! ~ Basket-weave black and white tiles with a black decorative border & Carrera marble around that...
