Simple lines with a little sparkle that matches the floor color -- seems to work for a small place.
The painted white across the full wall and around the f/place gives a flow to the wall and connects the windows. The windows look like they are decorations on a large mantel.
Like the reflective granite down and onto the floor. Also like that the surround shows the wall color on each side.
Beautiful art with the fireplaced framed and the stone work soft and almost blending with the walls. Finishing touch; the sculptured look to the welcoming benches on each side. Could make a small room seem more interesting. This is what I need for my small living room!
Color tones of wall and a simple f/p surround work well together. A simple statement.
Snug and clean, like the surround going to the roof and the pattern the couches make.
Like simpleness and how the picture to the roof carries your eye up making the room seem larger and more airy.
Like the small (4 inch?) tiles that do not extend to the edge of the wall. Without mantel, allows for a large picture or mirror above it; and for the f/place to be higher off the ground. About 18".
Fireplace surround would allow f/place to be raised -- just a simple change of box height. Tiles allow various box options.
Like how the surround tiles are soft and horizontal; blending with the wall yet carrying the eye upward.
Like the painted extra large faux mantel; paint at sides of little tiles and the little tile pattern.
Our f/p could be this high (centred = lower bottom); also we could put scones in. I like that look (not those sconces though!)
Use floor tiles or limestone upstairs in rectangular horizontal look with b/splash stone for decor.
