One Simple Fabulous Thing

When living in Paris years ago, I began understanding and developing the concept of what I call the One Simple Fabulous Thing. Sartorially: always have one fabulous accessory not matter how dressed up or down you are that day. Gastronomically: no matter how simple the meal, always have one zinger item like a good wine or chocolate mousse dessert. Conversationally: always have under your sleeve one intriguing topic that would interest anyone.

The same can be said for a space. Whether you're minimalist at heart, FRENCH at heart, or simply don't want to overload your budget with design improvements, if you can focus in each room on One Simple Fabulous Thing, you can coast a long way. It may even be the finishing touch you were looking for.
