I don't know if it was my sister and I fighting over who got to sit in the pink seat at Denny's way back in the '70s or that I'm burdened by the gray Pacific Northwest "summer" weather. In any case, seeing a feature on a California beach bungalow got my pink and orange heartstrings plucked once again. And, I can't think of a better way to "beef" up the sunny disposition in one's home. —Uncle Beefy from The Bedlam of Beefy
I got seduced by the Smeg brand of colorful refrigerators when I saw this pink beauty show up in a California kitchen in a magazine. I just wanted to be sitting in that happy space sipping on margaritas real bad. So, y'know, sold!
Okay, let's face it, this baby would be an investment piece and you'd better be really clear that you're going to like pink for a while to come. There's no getting around that this tailored charmer is going to infuse a zesty dose of femininity into a room — but also a hefty helping of happy.
Sure, of course! Why wouldn't you have thought about sipping on a tasty tropical beverage topped off with a little paper umbrella when imagining yourself sitting is this chirpy chair?! Now, that part about you imagining your Uncle waiting on you hand and foot? Don't push it, kids.
Aside from the happy hues, c'mon: this rug is named after a cat that's named after a character in "To Kill A Mockingbird." I've always dreamed about acquiring an Angela Adams rug and this would be high on the list for multiple reasons.
Hey, fuchsia ain't a pink for everybody. But, this simple tapered shade is such an easy way to add a perfect little pop. And it couldn't be any easier to switch things up when you're ready for a refresher.
In a mostly white room these would add a "California sunshine" kinda graphic impact. It would be hard not to feel happy when awakening to all this frivolity.
Such a great way to introduce a citrus-inspired splash to a living room, guest room or master. The clean lines and openness of the design keep the intensity of the color upbeat but not overbearing. Parked next to a crisp white couch, these babies won't wear out their welcome too soon!
Imagine these surrounding a white table out on the patio, walls dripping with pink bougainvillea and your Uncle is in the kitchen mixing up another batch of fresh strawberry margaritas. See? I told you that you'd like these chairs!
Talk about a burst of va-va-voom! With these bespoke roller blinds you might just wake up thinking you're on a Bollywood set with oodles of cascading rose petals. These would certainly make for an unexpected burst of color when it was time to draw them down... y'know, to avoid the flashes from the paparazzi.
A beautiful (and affordable) print from artist Tatsuro Kiuchi from Thumbtack Press makes it easy to infuse your space with a little luminous orange glow.
What? You didn't think only the grownups got to have all the pink and orange fun did you? Oh, wait... or was that the other way around? Oh well. Either way, score!
A cluster of these porcelain tea light holders would add such a beautiful and subtle rosy glow to a summer's evening. It's a more subdued way to sneak in some pink.
I'd love to see this effervescent pattern covering a couple of armchairs. This block-printed linen from John Robshaw would lend a convivial and international spirit all rolled into one!
Uncle Beefy Much obliged, Casart! :) Yeah... it's a punchy one alright! But, a combo that always solicits a smile from me. Thanks for the kind compliment!
Melissa de la Fuente Um....GOR-GEOUS!! ( I hope you put the appropriate sing-songy voice with that "gorgeous") LOVE these pics Beef! I SORT of had you in the fantasy of sitting in the "chirpy" chair, but, it was of me eating a cake you baked, not you waiting on me hand and foot! :) Oh, and that Robshaw linen fabric? I may never recover....thanks a lot! :)

pigtown design lucky life... if you think john robshaw's fabrics are gorgeous (in that voice!), you need to get a good look at the man himself. i met him at a small dinner last year, and he's as nice as he is attractive!
