Back to School: Great Homework Spaces

Kim They are all great and beautiful spaces but they will never work for my kids (that like the floor, the sofa, the kitchen counter- every other place around the house can work for them- never the desk itself!).

tc_raney I wish homework would get done at spaces like this but they are at the table or even standing at the kitchen counter while I work so they can be close by the action. I have 6 kids the oldest being a sophmore in college and desks have never gotten any use in this house. now the big couch might get used to lay on and write that paper.

Kit Pollard You know what I just realized? I wrote this ideabook sitting at my kitchen island, not the desk in my office (which is actually an old glass-topped outdoor dining table that my grandmother bought in the 60s). I've done homework everywhere from the beach to my bed, but rarely at a desk.

At the same time, when I really need to buckle down, the desk is where I go. It gets me in the right frame of mind.
