Thank you for this idea book! We have build ourselves our dream house, a Victorian inspired. Currently we are doing the trimwork. The Living room is a turret with 5 windows, adjoining the dining room with three windows and French Doors. It is open with only an archway dividing the space, so there are alot of windows, connecting to the DR is the kitchen (with the two pantry doors I attached photos) We are planning on doing the baseboard next and eventually crown molding. My question is this, with everything stained, is it okay to continue the stain in the crown or should it be painted to match the walls or 9' ceilings? My boys will give me a hard time if I suggest painting, but I do want it to flow as it should for proper design purposes. Thanks

I like how you mentioned that a door frame could help to add a little bit of depth to a room even though it hasn't changed at all. My wife and I have been working on the finishing touches in a renovation of our bedroom that we are planning and we haven't been able to figure out what is missing quite yet. The biggest thing would probably be the need for a little bit of depth, so we'll have to look at getting a replacement door frame customized for the style we are going for.
