Interesting lighting, open design, blend of stainless and wood

Don't like how the kitchen feels like it is crammed into a different room, don't like the table with square blocks for feet

I'm picky about lighting but not very articulate about it. In this photo, I don't like how the lights draw attention to themselves, but I like how they fit the theme of the kitchen.

Don't like the continuous tile backing against the entire wall, or maybe it is the color if it, either way it is too busy. Like the window that extends out, though only if we can get a highly energy efficient one... do it later?

I like the Escher-style tiles in general but not sure it would work in the kitchen. Here the tiling is a little busy and only goes part way up the wall which is odd to me. Would be awesome to get an Escher-styled counter top, probably not possible in our budget.

Like the wood and lots of light, don't like the things hanging down from the ceiling.

These lights hanging down not as big a deal as the others. Probably needed for the large island. The shouldn't hang down so far that I have to dodge or look around them.

Don't like things on the ceiling.

This is awesome, but if it was my friend's kitchen that I could visit. I wouldn't like it as mine. I like the bold design, the shapes, and the contrast and integration with the space around it.

This type of thing is clever also. I don't like the cleverness for cleverness's sake, I do like the efficiency, no space is left unused. That is generally how we use our kitchen.

Again, the tiling is not my taste. Note the slots for... plates? I'd like to keep things as generic as possible, but specialize where it makes sense. Examples would be a tucked in clever drawer where the space would have been dead, or making a place for knives near the food prep area rather than all the way on the other side of the kitchen.

Not a big fan of modernism, such as seen here.

Like the parallels and symmetry: the big curved cabinets, each side of the sink having a symmetrical feel, and the big window going up. I like the idea of having curves so everything is not so linear, though I'm not looking to mimic these specific curves. Not sure I like this particular kitchen design per say, just highlighting the elements I do like.

The shelves at the side have been useful in our home, despite our cries against open cabinetry. However low ones like this have been difficult with having a 1 year old around. See our current kitchen, the small shelves next to the sink are kind of nice. It is unclear if they are worth the space tradeoff.

This back wall is less obtrusive.

Like the idea of the "naturalish-looking" stained cabinets. Too much, color should be more subtle. Ideally some sort of faint forset green or faint purple, but I'm not sure this is possible to pull off and still keep everything light.

Like the wood and the warm feel.

simple but boring

This looks more like green being lighter and not as prominent, but its still not there. Too lime perhaps. My idea may not be possible.

Like the domed arch. Won't work in our home.

Different levels are an interesting idea, but probably not practical.

Really like the idea of getting the microwave off the counter. Hard to find an idea where the microwave feels like the microwave is well integrated with the overall design. We'll probably just continue to use ours from the thrift store, so integrating it in the overall design not a necessity. Main idea here is counter space. Would be nice to have a good amount if it with a minimal amount of things needing to sit on it all the time.

We really like the idea of a hanging pot rack and use one. I'm tall and don't like hanging pot racks in the way of my movement of being able to look around. Over the island is probably the right place for it.

Nice purple accent set against the rest of the space.

Nice blue accents against the rest of the space. Not sure I actually like these lights or how they hang down so low (in my way).

This red is well used with the white kitchen. I still don't like white kitchens per se, but the overall color scheme can really affect my feeling of the space. Unfortunately, I'm at the "know it when I see it" stage, I have difficulty making up good color choices.

As a contrast to the Escher-style backsplash and back tiling, this doesn't seem quite as awkward. It still is somewhat, but not terribly so. I'm not sure why.

Angle is an interesting idea, probably wouldn't work in our space.

The curves are an interesting idea, although this one is just facade. I'm not a big fan of facades that are obvious like this one, but I like the curve idea.
