Houzz is the new way to design your home.
concrete with just a little wood, roof line is similar to what Scott was thinking of
Like this L or U shape house. Only thing is it's not straight shot kitchen to living room, but like the courtyard idea.
like the look of this with the stone/wood/and metal roof.
like the somewhat Asian look to this one.
like this entrance.
Like simpleness and clean lines of this with the windows on top, so it's open, but not showing everything (always worry about security for that, even though I love the wall of windows idea too)
love the stone/concrete with metal roof look though we probably can't afford to do all of this
have always liked the A frame kind of look with the windows.
Passive House, like the stone/wood, rustic feel
nice exterior, ranch, kind of 60's style modern
like the courtyard, wood & concrete look. Reminds me of place in Fearrington.
like the Asian look of this house
like the metal roof, but we'll have to cut costs somewhere
love the indoor to outdoor concept - making living area bigger by incorporating the patio
another open concept idea. Love the beams. Vaulted ceiling makes room look bigger than it is.
While I don't like the white cabinets, I do like the dining room/living rm/kitchen here. Also like little working desk on right wall. Could be the place for us to pay bills, etc.
like the built-in entertainment/shelves here. Also like the beam
what about this kind of fire? I love the beams!
nice open concept feel, ceiling is much higher than ours will be, but like the windows on top to let more light in
like all the built-in cabinets, though this is darker than what we'd want.
One way to handle placement of the TV and equipment (VCR, DVR, etc.) that goes with it. Like the office, dining, living here too.
shelves, cabinets in living room (hopefully made by Steve again) and stone wall - have TV instead of fireplace?
Instead of paining, TV here and instead of couch, shelving & drawers here. Like back lighting for artwork.
lots of space in kitchen, open to living room area, color of cabinets
open kitchen, color of cabinets, glass windows looking to outdoor area
interesting island. Might not need a dining room table!
Cabinets more to our liking. Nice double wall oven. Seating at island.
really lends itself to open concept and has lots of room for seating!
like wine rack incorporated into the island. Neat! We dont want white cabinets, but rest of this is nice.
little spot like this would be really nice so we can store glasses, china, and all the things we use when we entertain. We don't have a hutch.
Don't mind having this if we don't have space for a walk in pantry.
like the shelves between the kitchen and dining room if we were to have a little wall, and like the wine rack above the cabinets, although could be a bit high for me to get to the wine!
office with lots of storage/built-ins. Like this a lot! Rm. used for more than one purpose also.
If the room is designed well, the office doesn't have to be very big, but we need file space. We run a business, and have several different tax filings to do each year, so need to keep lots of records...
Looks like more practical sliding glass door to keep with Passive House standards instead of accordion doors
brick wall kind of like what Scott is talking about. But ours would be between the solarium and the main room.
shelving/cabinet next to shower - interesting idea
Ooh, great idea for combining tub & shower without the shower door. We'd probably want tile, no glass though
One sink, but lots of cabinets
Big tub & walk-in shower
tub & shower, make best use of space while getting walk-in and lg tub
Nice way to incorporate shower & tub
We just need enough for 2 spaces to hang coats, put place for our incoming mail, put shoes, etc. I REALLY want something like this in our design!
Same concept, different layout.
Like the cabinets to hide a few things, but would want a place to put the shoes too...
Probably put door on top shelf instead of having it open.
Like it being incorporated into the laundry rm. This is a real nice-sized laundry. Don't know if we would need this much space for laundry.
