Guest Picks: Fabrics I'm Loving

I began my design career in fabrics, and, in a way, I have never left them. Fabrics make the room. Whether covering a piece of furniture, used in curtains or as accent pillows, it is that special choice of color and design that makes for a unique style.
I've tried to highlight a few fabrics here. It's an assortment of old and new looks, from very traditional to brand new contemporary. Take a look around and you might find just the one you've been searching for! — Libby Wilkie from An Eye for Detail

Aviary Fabric in Tangerine - $30.99 »
Exactly what is it that makes this fabric so popular? Perhaps it's the almost hand-printed look, or the colors, or the wood-cut quality.
Whatever it is, like you, I love it.

Just in Time for Tea Fabric - $19.00 »
This linen-cotton blend (comes in three different weights) is young at heart! Try it as some kitchen curtains, or add a fringe and make throw pillows for the banquette.

I have a weakness for handprinted fabrics from India — I've been to the factories to sample and just adore the look. This new collection from Sasha Waddell is sure to please. They debut this month at Decorex!

"Festival" '50s Fabrics Collection »
This fabric is bold, bright, very positive and so right for today! Maybe it's the scale that I like so much, or maybe that it's busy but not overwhelming.

You asked for antiqued fabrics? This is it. Beautifully hand-screened with that patina that usually comes with age. Can this really be new?

Sunglass Print Fabric »
There are so many prints and colorways on the Trina Turk site that I just had to quickly decide which one to include here! They're all great — fun, whimsical, contemporary, full of life and color. Here we have "Sunglass Print" in Parrot. (It's acrylic duck, making it great for outdoors.)

Palm Tree Fabric - GBP 57.80 »
I love the Old World quality of this Anna French fabric. The red is just the right color for me: rich without being too dark. Love the hint of musty green too.
