When I think of timeless materials, they seem to be those derived from nature. For example terracotta, or baked earth in its Italian translation, has been around since the beginning of time and will forever have a place in great design both indoors and outdoors.
At first mention of the word terracotta, my thoughts immediately venture to Spanish Revival or Mediterranean styled homes. To deviate from the norm, I thought it would be interesting to see terracotta in the context of other design styles. Is there a place for terracotta in your home's decor?

myhouzzisyourhouzz Wow! Love it. I'm drawn to a terracotta with lots of black to give it depth. This color pairs so well with the examples. Going to use the bathroom wall color for my accent wall. Thanks again for your inspiration, Erika.

Kristin Potenti I love the color combo in the first picture. We have terracotta color stained concrete countertops in the kitchen and that blue will make a fabulous accent color.

jackcynredesign We see a lot of terracotta in California - especially in the southern regions. I love its versality - it can serve as an accent as in your first picture (love the color combination) or work as a wonderful warm neutral background. Nice post.
