| Touch. Bedding is very alluring when it looks like a fluffy cloud. Think about a luxe hotel you may have stayed at. Replicate it using a soft down comforter. I try to stay away from comforters that have lots of different colors and patterns in master bedrooms. It can be distracting and clutter your mind. |

| Another harmonious combo: tans with accents of spicy orange and greens. Don't skimp on the drapes. Add volume to your windows with extra widths of fabric.

| For a luxe look, try using tone-on-tone fabrics and paint in a soft neutral palette with silver finishes. I can imagine a crystal chandelier hanging in front of the bed. Use extra throw pillows to layer on plushness to the bed. |

| Try adding a candle chandelier for a look of real candles. How romantic! Or change out your exposed bulbs to flicker flame bulbs to create a similar feel. |

| Layer your windows with hard treatments like blinds or shades, along with drapes that have black out lining. This combination will shut the world out so you can concentrate on your romance. Silk or velvet drapes are soft looking. |
| Mirrors create wonderful reflective surface that adds depth. If you already have a television in front of your bed, hang a floor length mirror on the wall to the side. You can get a look similar to this with IKEA's MONSTAD mirror. |

| 3. Hearing. Music is a vital part of a romantic moment. These days we don't need to find a place for large speakers. With this Genevalab Sound Speaker near your bed, you can have classic ballads playing in a second! Just plug our ipod in. It has a remote control and iphone adaptor, and a digital radio with alarm clock. Love that it brightens on hand contact and comes in a choice of three gloss colors: white, red and black. Shut the door. Always keep your bedroom door closed. Keep the noises of the washing machine, telephone, kids and pets out! |
| Taste. What is sexier than a late-night champagne and snack in bed? Chocolate is considered an aphrodisiac and goes perfectly with champagne. Keep a large tray handy for refrigerator finds you want to carry up to the room.

I don't get the "candelier" thing at all. It's so impractical if you are really going to attempt to use it. I like candle's that are not suppose to be the main lighting in a room and certainly not hanging from the ceiling.
I don't like to see drapes that do not hang properly because they are too thick in the width when pulled back and are puddled on the floor. I like to see drapes hang straight without a wrinkle, i.e. the candelier room curtains look really sloppy.
I love the white walled room with the orange accents. Very simple, yet peaceful and beautiful.
Great photo's, thanks for the post.
On thread count. I thought I was doing a great thing by buying a 600 count set of sheets, well for us that was not a good thing, very slippery (constantly losing the blankets off the end of the bed at night) and the thread did not hold its color, don't know what was up with that, sure it was a poor dye, nothing to do with threads, but it stained my mattress. Now I stick with 300 to 400 thread count and we are both much happier, I do want another set of burgundy sheet though, just will have to was and see if they stop bleeding if not, return them.
Allende your bedroom captures the feel of romantic Mexico..very, very nice.
Since everyone is talking about sheets, let me ask. Is anyone concerned about the manufacturing of their bed linens? When I learned about the noxious chemicals used in some processing of sheets, especially wrinkle free, I did research. Now I only buy 100% organic sheets that are made in this country and specify no chemicals are used. Sometimes I'll buy Sferra brand when I can afford it. Tuesday morning sells the good ones, problem is finding the color you need/want in their limited selection. Not the Sferra sold at Macy's for cheap, but the ones actually made in Italy. They are also "clean" of chemicals. I've purchased a set of Peacock Alley also as they appear free from chemicals also.
I had just moved in my new house and a couple in the neighborhood asked if they could come inside to see the house as they wanted to build one like it and were curious of how the inside was laid out. So of course we told them sure that would be fine. Well, I didn't have bedspreads yet for the beds so I rushed out and bought some cheapo matlasse coverlets from JC Penney just so the beds didn't look pathetic. Well, the chemical smell in those things was so strong it could kill a horse. I tried washing on sanitized cycle twice and still they stink. I took them off the beds and plan on selling them at my next garage sale. I cannot imagine someone sleeping everynight breathing in those chemicals and not being physically affected by them.
I love my organic blanet I bought from Linens someting or other, on line. It's a weave, very warm and heavy and I don't think it will ever wear out. Not to mention there is no smell except clean coming from it.
Patscats2...take the thing back to Penneys or they will just keep foisting them off on the rest of us!
