Thinking about what I want my home to look like I immediately think of images from books like the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice (or any of her vampire novels-while not my favorite books, Lestat seems to have impeccable decorating tastes) or any of Mary Stewart's books. I love ornate, historical furniture and something that feels a little haunted.
This wine cellar is gorgeous. So many little details come together to make it look as though it's a scene from Disney's Haunted Mansion. Is it wrong to want to leave the table set like this all the time?
I'm in love with this kitchen. It looks like a fantastic place to carve a pumpkin or dry some herbs. I especially love the finish of the wood. It's so warm and inviting-and as I'm not an especially kitchen friendly person I feel as though a place like this might get me in there more often.
This feels like it belongs in this kitchen. It's a little reminiscent of Hogwarts or Mary Stewart's Rose Cottage. I will probably scour for antique apothecary cabinets as they're so useful for a variety of things.
This bathroom has such beautiful, clean lines and I can't ever resist a claw foot tub. I don't know if I'll ever have a bathroom big enough to accommodate a random chair-but I would love to. It makes it feel so luxe.
This bathroom is completely different with a slightly lighter, airier feel. The tub, sink, and wall sconces, however, give it a darker finish that I dig.
Well, who doesn't need a coffin couch? I don't know that I would ever put this in my living room for fear of offending others, but if I ever have a walk in closet big enough for a couch you will definitely find this there.
When it comes to beds, I have to admit that I love a canopy. This is just so over-the-top ornate that I adore it, but the rest of the room is quite a lot more simple. The ceiling details are just breathtaking.
This is closer to an attainable canopy bed. I love all of them, ornate or even more simple than this. Again, I love the ceiling details here. I think having a dark ceiling would be a decent way to compromise on having some darker details in the room, and I love that the walls aren't just plain.
Maybe for another room, not my own, I would explore an upholstered headboard like this one. This is lovely, and with such beautiful fabric used to make up the bed I don't think you can go wrong. The taupe wall is also stunning. I have to admit that I really, truly love a good taupe, and it goes with so many other colors.
Everything about this room is stunning-the window treatments, the chandelier and detail around the top of it... I also love the panels on the far wall, instead of having art there.
I would love to upholster a chair-or chairs-in this fabric. From a distance it gives a totally classical look, but as you really look at the pattern it is something completely unique. The only decision is black...
