Houzz is the new way to design your home.
I like the interesting, uneven pointed ceiling line, the yellow back wall which is darker than the light yellow or cream fireplace wall that juts out, the tall ficus tree, the skylight, and the floor to ceiling windows.
I like the pale green walls with the white moldings and ceiling, and the white surfaces on the irregular architectural features in the room. I like the free-standing vertical bookshelf with the different colored books.
I like the wide expanse of windows, the curved floor lamp, and the way it is echoed by the plant with two green pom-poms, and the white, ball-shaped, fluffy pillow
Fluffy, flower-like ceiling light, chair on rockers
I like the purple pillow.
I've always liked this hook thing with the colorful balls (Eames Hang-It-All), but it's best with nothing hanging on it so you can see it.
This is an interesting idea to line the back of bookshelves with wall paper. The objects displayed would have to be fairly neutral and color-coordinated to work, though.
This is striking, also, with the yellow-green painted background to the bookshelves. Again, the display objects have to be pretty neutral. The lampshade and throw in similar shades of green really make the effect.
Bookshelf wallpaper, how fun! Don't know that I'd actually do this, but. . .it would be fun to put our own titles on the books!
I like the pair of benches at the end of the bed: elegant and
Round area rug--a cool shape and color against the gray floor. Like the design, too.
Yellow door. Fun.
I like the pastel painting on the gray and white print wall.
I like these poufs with opposite color arrangements.
I like the idea of unifying a small space with a single color palette.
Using mirrors to create depth.
Good tips--mirrored furniture plus mirrors, placing candles and flowers where they'll be reflected.
Hanging a cluster of mirrors with a theme, such as all round, or all distressed-wood frames.
Opening up the space with glass doors.
The plants and fruit add nice touches.
Balanced scale is important. Love the pink pouf table and the vase of pink flowers. The carpet, chair cushions and curtains in different but coordinating pink shades. The curved wooden chair frame pick up the circular table idea, as does the rug pattern.
Clear chairs good for small space, although they don't look very comfortable.
Swingarm sconces also save space.
Green plants look nice, but require care.
Maybe not my taste, but interesting patterned wallpaper goes with round mirror and ceiling lamp.
Love the windows.
Like the happy couple. And the bright pink flowers add a focal point for the room with all the books.
The shoes look cute all lined up like that. I would need some more colorful ones.
Like the yellow picture with the pink door, blue door frame, and green watering can and plants.
Like the blue contrasting border on the shower.
I like the idea of using colored hardware on the white side tables, and the same color footboard, quilt and pillow on the bed, in different shades.
I like the pink stools next to the blue-backed island
The wagon is a cute idea for a coffee table--and moveable!
The white china looks good against the yellows-green background. Red, yellow, blue and green accents add interest.
I like the pink chair and the bird sculptures.
Love the green with the curved white ceiling area.
I love the windows, allowing for a wide and tall view.
I like the chair. I also like the orchid.
Great windows and view.
I like the white table. Doesn't take up much space, blends in with the wall, is functional and modern-looking. Like the way the flowers and chair pillows have some of the same colors.
Like the idea of storing staples in clear glass containers. Healthier than plastic, and if I see it, I'll remember it. Maybe even eat it.
It would be cool to have a window right above my desk, but would that cause glare on my computer screen? Like the dark chair with the light desk, and the dark bulletin board. Flowers add a nice touch.
Love the light blue chair and the blue, coordinating but not identical blue accessories. Also the pendant light fixture, though it's kind of big.
Love the colors and the padded look.
Love the rose pink color.
Wonderful view. The chair and footstool look comfortable, and don't detract from the view.
How fun to have the chairs in different colors!
Love the window seat.
Cool. Is it a bed, or is it a couch? Could we do this with the four-poster bed in the living room?
Like the window seat and the view.
Wow! Let's have a hammock and a beach and blue water and sky.
