Guest Picks: Fun Finds for Fall
I don't know what it is about the changing of the seasons that makes me want to nest and revamp. You too? In the fall, I gravitate towards cozy things like velvet, the warmth of gold and a little bit of fun to lighten things up! So, I thought I would find some fabulous and lovely things to inspire you for the fall and beyond. I hope you enjoy! — Melissa from Melissa Loves
Ava Tufted Sleeper Sofa - $699
Ooh, a couch in gray velvet. Sold. Plus, this one is a very good price for such a lovely piece.
Gold Fawn Statue - $45
I do love a gold objet d'art! And though there haven't been many a deer in these parts of late, this sweet little golden fawn has me thinking of a stroll in the woods on a crisp fall day.
Linen & Velvet Cushions - GBP 15.50
Ah ha! More velvet! And in that gorgeous peacock blue? Yes, please!
Antiqued Bird Mirror - $98
Round mirrors are such a lovely surprise in a room. They lend a beautiful flow to the other things around them.
Isala Side Table, Gray - $179
A gray side table for a gray couch? Why not? Pretty curves echo those of the couch and mirror. And at such a great price, you could have two.
Yellow Pitcher - $250
This drawing is a pretty and graphic reminder of warm and cozy drinks in the cooler weather. Plus I love that yellow. (It would be so pretty with the gray couch and blue pillow.)
Slatted Gate Pendant - $768
The texture and color of this pendant reminds me of the walls of a barn or an old wood plank floor. Nothing cold about it, and three of them would be so pretty over a kitchen workspace.
34 Boulevard Saint Germain Scented Oval - $50
I love scents in a home. I know not everyone agrees, but I love to light candles to add a warm glow to the room or a beautiful scent to the scene. This "scented oval" by Diptyque is to be put in a closet or a drawer, but I bet you could put it anywhere and be happy.
Fox and Cubs Lampshade - GBP 31
I love the illustration on this lampshade; it's modern but like something our of a book about fairy tales. It would be so pretty hanging above a side table next to that handsome gray couch.
Middle Atlas Tribal Carpet - $700
Warm, worn and with so much character. Unusual coloring as well — I love it!
Bee Bowl by Julia Smith Ceramics - GBP 15
Can't you see a big bowl of oatmeal or cereal in this sweet bee bowl? A cup of tea or coffee beside it and you are off to a great start in the morning! I love handmade bowls with whimsical designs and an unfinished appearance to the glaze — so warm and so lovely.
Horse Wooden Sign by Slippin' Southern
Who couldn't use a larger-than-life wooden horse on a wall in their home? It could point you in the right direction or add some much needed character to a space.
Medusa Forest Board - $148
I am still on the "slice of nature" bandwagon. How about you? This piece with it's deep, dark center is perfect for display or presentation.
Mustard Suzani Napkin - $12
Paired together, the pretty golds and creams in this napkin and the subtle golds in the board make for a very handsome duo on a table.
Edwardian Knob - $10
I'm always a fan of new knobs to bring a well worn/loved piece back to life. These are so elegant and so pretty in their simplicity.
Screwnicorn Unicorn Corkscrew - $11.50
Did someone say "fun?!" I did! This little guy is sure to make you happy every time you see him on your counter or use him to open your favorite bottle of wine.
Folky Fresh Pouf - $109.99
And while you are drinking that glass of wine or reading that book (perhaps by a cozy fire?) you can rest your feet on this sweet pouf. I love the bright, cheerful colors. It's unexpected but totally sweet.
Driftwood Dream Catcher from Chief & Crown - $25
I love all the things from my childhood that are coming back in force this year, like friendship bracelets and dream catchers. This simple, rustic one would be so pretty hanging next to the round mirror above.
Lena Bookends - $80
I have visions of beautiful bookcases dancing in my head... with beautiful, colorful books and lots of pale and pretty accessories. These porcelain "books" would be a great place to start.
