These draperies are so elegant, they make me think of Audrey Hepburn. Or Cary Grant (deep sigh). Although they are stationary, not operable, they cover most of the window. To reiterate: There are few hard and fast rules. Personal taste dictates choices.
The width of the slat will be your first decision. Blinds generally come in one of three standard sizes: ½ inch, 1 inch and 2 inches. The ½-inch slat is the most popular, because it gives homes a contemporary feel. The 1-inch version is a compromise between the narrowest and the widest blinds; they take less labor to manufacture than the ½-inch slats, and so are slightly less expensive. Roller shades can also be made of interesting materials, and in varying opacities, that make a significant decorative statement.
Why not hobbled roman blinds for over bathroom. … but when they’re lowered, the hobbled pleats provide extra texture and visual interest. The horizontal structure makes raising and lowering them a piece of cake.
