Kitchen reno

We renovated our kitchen at the end of December, 2012 (Richmind, BC)
Our 28 yr old kitchen, including the rapidly non-functioning cooktop.
The tile countertops had to be replaced in order to fit the new cooktop and downdraft fan.
The existing cupboards provided sufficient storage, but the dated oak inset handles were frustrating to use.
The reno in progress - a week without a kitchen sink in December was not our smartest move.
The updated kitchen with a Viking electric cooktop and Broan downdraft fan, a Moen tap, maple countertops and new cupboard doors, drawers and handles.
Antique white shaker style doors (Lancaster I) from MJ Woodcrafts (Delta, BC), installed by Jack Shannon of Cabinet Makeovers.
False doors were installed under the breakfast bar to give the entire peninsula a consistent look. The unfinished gap near the wall was turned into a wine cabinet, complete with door.
The wide plank maple countertop was manufactured and installed by Culinary Hardwoods of Chilliwack, BC. The new breakfast bar was cantilevered on four stainless steel posts. The existing enamelled cast iron sink was reused.
My favourite part of my new kitchen - a baking surface treated with tung oil. The remaining countertop surfaces are waterproof and maintenance free.
