mam1 YEAH! Just deciding on hardware for the kitchen and am SICK to death of nickel, etc. I loved that for a long time but am ready to move forward. You know when something is the throw down, go-to obvious option, the trend has got to change. But a little validation is always helpful so thank you--LOL!

Karen I still have some beautiful lamps that are brass. Of course, the "new" brass is more dimensional, sometimes satin finished. I ought to figure out how to update my shiny brass to make it more modern. I think the brass everywhere look of the 90's is gone, where every single knob and fixture was brass. But, mix it up a bit and you can keep some of it for a more modern look.
