Guest Picks: Blissful Bedroom
I've been all about the bedroom lately. I've realized that the more serene and comfortable my bedroom is, the better I sleep and the more prepared I am to take on the world the next day. With this discovery has come a crazy, urgent desire to clear everything out and completely redo the room (seriously, I've thrown out so much stuff). I've found a bunch of pieces I'd love to incorporate into my new peaceful space. — Camilla from Champagne Bubbles
Vintage Fir Canopy Bed - $2,375
I've been a longtime lover of four-poster and canopy beds. This rustic one is on my wish list. I feel so safe and cozy sleeping with a frame around me.
Zinc Letters - $18
Declare whose side of the bed is whose with these cool zinc letters.
Dip-Dye Rainbow Silk Pillow Cover - $39
I get overwhelmed by too much color, but these pillows bring in some brightness in all the right ways. I would layer these on my white bed.
PB Essential Duvet Cover, White - $59
I avoided the all-white bed trend floating around the blogosphere for a while because I was worried about how dirty the linens would get. But after giving in a few weeks ago, I can honestly say that an all-white bed is best. Plus, it makes a great base so that I can bring in accent colors that won't overwhelm the room.
Moose Framed Art Print - $34
I don't live in the mountains or near any kind of moose population, but this print makes me want to.
Cute-as-a-Button Erin Chair - $279.99
Whether used for reading or for putting on shoes, a comfy and cute chair in the bedroom is useful.
Favorite Throw, Solid - $29
Soft throws are for cuddling up in a reading chair with a good book or magazine.
Rattan Trunk Basket - $598
Store those throws you have lying around, as well as any other bedroom linens, in a wicker basket. Clutter does not make for a serene space.
L-Beam Wall Shelf - $249
I'm a girl who likes tchotchkes as well as order. A beautiful but functional wall shelving unit is like a dream come true for the two opposing sides of my personality.
Love Letter Cushion, Gold - $82
All you need is love — and also a cool pillow with the word "love" on it.
Parson's Floor Mirror, Chocolate-Stained Veneer - $399
I never realized how necessary a full-length mirror was until I didn't have one. I love the thick wood frame on this one.
Vintage Test Tube Display by Ethan Ollie - $62
I absolutely love to bring greenery into my bedroom, but cut flowers can be pricey. I love the whimsical nature of this vintage test tube set and the fact that I can bring in little (and free) snips of plants from around my house.
Baubled Brook Jewelry Stand - $38
My jewelry is seriously hard to manage sometimes, and it always ends up in an ugly tangled mess. I'd love something like this to organize it.
Repurposed Frame, Large - $28
I'm not sure I could fall asleep without being surrounded by pictures of my loved ones. I love the imperfect quality of this wooden frame; it makes the photo even more special.
Izola Candles - $35
I like to make my bedroom smell like a spa or a fancy hotel with candles. Candlelight is also the most flattering light. Wink, wink.
Alarm Dock - $40
I miss the days of real alarm clocks, but I also like to have my phone nearby. This genius wooden alarm clock/phone charger is the best of both worlds.
Fabric Chicks Hanger - $6.99
I'll take any opportunity to bring a little luck and fortune into my life. I also love the pops of color these prosperity hens bring to a room.
Glass Jar Pendants - $99
The bedside lighting situation has always flustered me. I'm starting to think that a cool hanging fixture like one of these jar lights is the way to go.
Brown Bombay Tie Journal, Large
I've been wanting to keep a dream journal forever, and I'm starting to think that the only way I will actually do it is if I have a cool leather journal that I don't mind keeping out all the time.
