| The sink's previous location determined the layout of the space, since the homeowners wanted to avoid moving any plumbing. They also wanted to have a clear view of the backyard when doing dishes. A French armoire adds storage for mugs and cookware. "It's a refreshing departure from just doing all cabinets," Arendsen says. Range: 60-inch Wolf; sink: Rohl; sink fixtures: Jalco |

| The previously tiny dining room that was attached to the kitchen is now a cozy nook and bar area that seats 16 people. The custom tables have removable glass tops so the family can rotate in various design patterns underneath. The zinc and leather benches were added with the growing children in mind. Wear and tear over time will add character to the materials. See more Kitchens of the Week |
Love the urn of calla lilies!
As a fellow Mom of a large family..I can so appreciate all that space. The seating looks wonderful.
My kitchen is 30 years old, original cabinets. I can't wait to re-do. I would love to put in seating like that in our breakfast area.
And I love how the light above the island brings our the turquoise from the backsplash. Stunning.
What is that metal instrument over the oven (on the wall)?
Should be inspiration for other houses in a development that it can be a good thing to be different!
it concerns me that the gas burners are so close to the cabinetry coming down to the counter each side of the range. not only is it unsafe, but also very limiting for larger pots and handles. as a professional kitchen designer, this one scares me!
i also have an aversion to "birds on a wire" eating counters. not very conversation freindly.
the light overall color and use of accents is very appealing though.
The whole collection is on Houzz here: http://www.houzz.com/pro/casart/__public
I also love colorful cabinetry, like this Turquoise kitchen!
The bleached floors and wood beam over the range are just beautiful and add a wonderful texture to the pristine white of the cabinets. Also love the cabinet hardware.
And yes, you should have a sink near by to empty the pot, maybe on the island accross from the stove? Just saying! Bdw, I love the light fixture !!!!!
