Coffee & End Tables
Organized by size - largest at the beginning, moving from suggestions for the family room to smaller options for the cocktail room.
White table, brown sofa, cream shag rug. To help you visualize the look of having a light table with a dark couch.
Brown sofa, white/chrome tables. Again, to help you visualize a little.
59"L x 30"W x 12"H - 86lbs. The only real departure from this ideabook - dark wood. Around $400. Really unique, Asian feel, two-toned top. Very long. (That's weathered wood in the middle.) Companion end table available.
Parsons Rectangular Coffee Table with Travertine Top | Crate&Barrel - $599
Parsons Travertine table at C&B. $600. Beautiful but warning! Stains very easily - crayon, coffee, water. Not good for high traffic and kids. 48"Wx28"Dx17"H
Square version of the travertine C&B table. Here, two side by side on cream shag rug. Imagine this shag rug under all of the family room suggestions. If you like this look, we'd look for something that is faux travertine and sealed to prevent staining.
Tyne cocktail table from Room & Board. $589 in white glass, but comes in other tops in different prices. 48x24 12h. Very simple, sleek, universal. My favorite choice for you guys.
48" sq., 14"H $1485 at Restoration Hardware. Antique mirrored surface, metal frame with soft iron finish. Way out of the price range, but beautiful. Might be able to find a knock-off.
$895 nesting tables to match the 48" Restoration Hardware piece.
48"W x 30"D x 16"H $1095 at Restoration Hardware. Antique mirror, burnished metal trim, open shelf. Again, at the top of the price range, but mirrored and square. Antique mirror finish won't show smudges so much.
$795 cube side table. 24"W x 22"D x 22"H
48"W x 24"D x 16"H $180. Mottled beige color complement fireplace. Two tables nest together for a casual feel. A temporary, inexpensive option.
White, rounded, clean. Dania. High gloss fiberglass. $339. 47.0" W x 23.5" D x 15.7" H
Matching end table at Dania. High gloss fiberglass. 21.7" W x 21.7" D x 19.7" H $230.
45"w x 25"d x 18"h. $359 at West Elm. A cool metallic take on the Parsons table - will tie into the fireplace. From West Elm: "Surface may experience slight bubbling over time, a natural experience for metal-wrapped items."
Matching end table. $279. Has a drawer to hide remotes.
Offi Scando table. $600 43.5 W x 11 H x 28 D. Very popular shape.
38"W x 36"D x 20"H $190. Faux travertine top pulls in the fireplace. Unique modern shape. Hard edges, but feels more kid-friendly than the normal rectangular table. My favorite for the size, price and look.
Matching end table. 16"W x 26"D x 25"H $120.
Ties in with acrylic pieces in the kitchen, but size and stature doesn't stand up to the expansive feel of the family room. If you like acrylic, we need something with more heft. 37.5"Wx21.25"Dx13.75"H. $279 at CB2. This is the last of the suggestions for family room.
Smart Round Marble Top Coffee Table - $329
33"dia.x12.25"H Round, so more kid-friendly than corners. No glass to keep smudge-free. Size is good for cocktail room. Red wine might stain the white marble...
White particle board/wood veneer. Size is suited for cocktail room. $205. 13.15" H x 31.5" W x 31.5" D
Square parsons coffee table and matching end table from West Elm. $239 for coffee table (31.5"sq x 16"h) and $159 for end table (21"w x 16"d x 25"h.)
$299.99 at World Market. The top comes off for storage. 29" x 16". Organic look, ties in with artwork and asian flair. Would be fun and unusual in the cocktail room, paired with velvet seating.
$399. CB2 31.5"sq.x15.25"H. Cement.
Noguchi knock-off table. $299 Lexington Modern. Pros- it looks like the real Noguchi. Cons - a toddler will tip this style of table over (it folds flat).
