I love dimples, but only on faces and Chesterfield sofas. It's amazing the words people use to describe tufted sofas, especially this iconic piece. Chesterfield sofas have graced the homes of many since the 18th century. Named in honor of Philip Dormer Stanhope, the fourth Earl of Chesterfield and then tastemaker, he wanted a sofa that would allow a gentleman to sit upright on a sofa and remain comfortable. Apparently, this guy was no slouch.
The Chesterfield has remained the same after all these years. Its deeply-buttoned upholstery, equal height rolled arms and back, and nailhead trim is most often seen in leather, but is offered in a variety of fabrics. A timeless option if shopping for a new sofa, the Chesterfield though traditional, has a place in any home's decor.

ellenhiggins Does anyone have a good source for a sleeper chesterfield sofa? I've been looking at the distressed Restoration Hardware chesterfield, but it does not come in a sleeper.
