Pick Up Some White Pumpkins for Elegant Fall Decorating
Ghost-white gourds give autumn decorating a chic alternative to the jack-o'-lantern
I'm seeing white pumpkins everywhere this fall. A chic alternative to the overly-associated-with-Halloween-orange variety, white pumpkins add seasonal appropriateness to your interior arrangements. The look can be sophisticated, fun and provides a way to change up your space without being so theme oriented. Some of these examples are varieties of pumpkins that are naturally white; others are painted for an even whiter effect.

Here, regular old white pumpkins were spray painted stems and all and placed among white ceramic vessels.

This is utterly modern through and through. You've got the classic mod pairing of black and white, with the gorgeous white "Silver Moon" pumpkins lining each side of the staircase. The key to make this look so fresh and dramatic is that all the pumpkins are the same size; the symmetry and simplicity create quite a statement for a fall event.

Here, flat matte craft paint was used to coat regular orange pumpkins. We are calling these "ghost pumpkins." Paired with the wispy white flags overhead, this is perfect for a sophisticated tablescape or centerpiece.

A mix of white and sage-green pumpkins bring an organic feel into an otherwise formal kitchen corner. The mix of pumpkins still feels chic, mainly because there is no orange to be found!
A nursery needs a touch of autumn too! Here, two pumpkins of the "Lil Pump" variety are placed amongst white, shabby chic furnishings. The overall effect is quite tranquil.
These "Silver Moon" pumpkins are so nice layered together in the middle of a dinner table. The cream and white color scheme is such a tasteful take on autumnal dining.
