Textured wallpaper, linen and wood create a nature-inspired palette for modern Tahoe home
This California mountain retreat in Lake Tahoe's Sugar Bowl is a warm space that glows with soft neutrals and natural light. The interior design of the home, built and designed by John Maniscalco Architecture, was greatly influenced by the client's love and knowledge of design. Its use of organic materials — from exposed wood grains to roughly woven textiles — softens its modern lines and creates a welcoming and cozy feeling.

| The bold modern fireplace is the first thing that catches the eye in this stunning photo. This six-foot fireplace is accented by a simple gray wallpaper, which almost has the appearance of stone tile. This unique choice was the client's decision, as she wanted something textural to break up the wall. The simple linen couch and gorgeous walnut coffee table were custom pieces, and the client found the rattan chairs. The exposed Douglas fir ceiling and Western red cedar beams create a distinctly cabin-like feel to this very contemporary home.
