Houzz is the new way to design your home.
Something about a hallway under a staircase comforts me, isn't so open concept current.
Like that the staircase breaks up the space, not so incredibly OPEN concept!
Have always been so romantic about half doors! (Double, dutch? Something?)
Color of cabinetry
Doors for a reading room, maybe?
One or two small, special spaces or places for leaded windows like this!
Love the ladder, but for a reading room, too.
Arched ceiling! Distinction between materials, design, concrete division of space, well organized, I like rooms, before any furnishing are in, to look "outlined" in materials and finishes.
I'd like kneewalls with stone and a step down into a living space, I'd like the clear division between rooms but still open concept. Colors here are too light, finishes too formal.
I like the idea of beams to separate spaces, darker, colors but I'm done with gold. Want grey, black, brown, cream, white and splash of green.
Love the separation, definition, outlining of each room!! For a reading room though, want entirely contained, just like a theatre room would be, sound is too much a factor.
Pocket doors for reading room?
Love geometric wallpaper for a small space like a bathroom, area rug, etc. Grey and cream or white, even better... Don't want the whole house to be feminine/sophisticated/dressy/formal, but a small room here or there like this would be a highlight.
Paneled walls in the dining room, study, reading room, bedroom - YES!!!
Love the cabinet.
Loved a half or curved staircase, so cozy, homey.
Feel so traditional and homey, like a movie set.
Too bright and white, but love everything else.
Love the high windows for a reading room, privacy.
OH MY GOODNESS!! Immediately delighted upon seeing this. Might not go so light and bright, add more grey or brown, but love it! Structural delight!!
Diff colors and materials, but yes, making use of that wall space and window with built ins and a seat. Want much of this in the new house!!
My Jimmy ;-)
Reading room contrast of color, all wood paneling on walls.
Ohhhhh how my reading room is going to cloak me!!
STONE WALL, AHH! My heart skipped a beat when this pic came up, just like the parade home we loved!
The lines, the painted wood walls, the ceiling - it all makes me feel very comfortable, WANT to be in this room, not just look at it like some of the more beautiful, but too stuffy or formal rooms. My insides like this room!
Def too formal, BUT what I like is that it is not a stand alone tub, those make me feel like I am going to be murdered, really dislike. Very much want a tub that is surrounded by other materials, up high or maybe down low is great, and with windows all around is best!
Yes. Feels grounded, like I'm not going to float up into the ceiling, feels homey and cozy, don't care about shape or flow, just about size of each room, height and the way they chop it up from overly open concept.
Make this on a porch or in a peak of a third story - awesome! Even Daddy's office in a room like this with desk in place of bed?
Love colors, materials, overall look and feel.
Love a small bathroom under the stairs, like a real water closet, like the house we loved in Sheboygan.
YES! An actual SPACE for dog's bowls. Place for everything and everything in it's place at the new house! Love it!!
Love a door under the stairs, arched, etc. Cozy, like Clue manor!
I like it because it feels like you'd find it in an old house.
STONE WALL! THis is what is on the OTHER side of the same stone wall in kitchen! Only it's a screen porch, and the fireplace is two ways! YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIke how separate these three spaces shown are.
