Burggraff - Kitchen
The lighting over the island appears to warm up the room. I like the clear glass finish.
Well-planned small appliance storage.
Book storage is built into the step area that divides the two spaces. This could work for our desk area in den.
Simple cabinet faces and pulls seem fresh. Tile work and counter tops seem to pull together enameled cabinetry with darker woodwork. I also LOVE the uncarpeted staircase. Like countertops.
Beams are painted and still incorporated into adjacent space. In this way the layout is similar to ours. I wonder how this might work should we choose to keep the beams.
I like the lighting under the cabinets. This offers nice light on the counter tops. I am also interested in having some glass-faced cabinet doors, but I wonder if it would be difficult to keep them looking clean and to keep contents looking organized.
I like how the window becomes a focal point in this room. Currently ours seems so hidden and I think it causes us to miss out on great outdoor views. I also like the way the stainless appliances, enameled cabinetry, and dark wood all work together nicely here.
Lots of storage pulled into one small area here near the cooktop. It seems a little busy, but it could be an efficient use of space along our current refrigerator wall, providing room for a double oven elsewhere.
