Rugs are like pieces of art and nicely made coats: expensive and full of impact. Therefore, a rug must be chosen wisely and thoughtfully. But oh my, fabulous rugs can be so hard to find! I hope I've saved you hours of legwork by collecting the best rugs on the web for modern, fresh spaces. Your hardwood floors will thank me. — Stephanie from Stephmodo
I think this rug is the perfect shade of red because it's not quite red. The subtle coral undertones really warm it up, make it easier on the eyes and make it a more versatile accessory. Rich, vibrant, dense color like this doesn't come around every day — certainly not in a rug. It's definitely a favorite.
Just when I thought Martha's line at Macy's couldn't get any better, this patchwork of feathers, which is unlike anything I've seen before, came out. It is the epitome of sophistication and exudes calmness and tranquility. Interestingly enough, the other rugs in the collection are not particularly noteworthy, but this one is quite special in my book.
This is a fabulous yellow-hued rug. Goodness, this one is gorgeous!

Designing a bedroom for a tween boy has to be the toughest project for any designer, mother, creative, artist, etc. I can't help but feel that this rug would be perfect on so many levels. It's a real keeper and surprisingly well priced for a designer rug.
I love the way Martha took a traditional pattern and modified it to be fresh and modern — well done! This is a lovely piece for a home with pretty antique white furniture. Add some wainscoting, a bronze chandelier and a few large windows, and you have what many would call the perfect room.
Imagine a room with white walls, warm woods and this soft gray rug. Add in a few mid-century modern pieces, and you have yourself a fresh look for just pennies. The price tag is ridiculous — in a good way.
Sometimes you just want a classic border rug, like this one, offered in a ton of colors.

If you feel like spending some money and see a true "piece" — the kind you can pass down to your children — then you may want to give this richly colored rug a look-see. It's handwoven luxury from Tibet at its finest.

If this ideabook had a top three section, I'd put this rug at number two. It's just that fabulous in every way. Plus, who would ever tire of a color called "citrine"?
This warm, tilework pattern rug will instantly upgrade all your IKEA furniture at a moment's notice; it's that eye-catching. I've never seen a rug in such a pretty, tangerine-orange color — a true one-of-a-kind piece!

Forget the Winnie the Pooh theme for your baby's nursery and add this sophisticated rug instead. Then, when your baby is older, you can change out the bedding and furniture and continue to enjoy this versatile, timeless classic for years to come.

If olive green were ever an appropriate color in a living space, this rug would be the one thing you'd want to own. It's a delightful color to pair with teak mid-century pieces as well as dark chocolate-brown woods.
If you enjoy subtle and sophisticated neutrals, meet your match! This gorgeous rug is the ideal transitional piece if you feel like your style is partially traditional and partially modern. I would also like to add that the blue is the loveliest, most soothing shade of blue I've seen in a rug.
I love the brown version of this popular motif and, quite frankly, prefer the almost-chevron to the true chevron. This is a fantastic modern rug that will instantly bring style to a simple space in need of a little refreshing. Granted you may tire of it after a couple of years, but for under $200 it won't be the end of the world.
This rug has a modern play on the classic checkerboard pattern with a funky vibe.
With an easy-on-the-wallet price tag and consistently positive reviews, it's hard to not give this stellar piece some atttention. It's a busy pattern, yes, but it would be perfect in a smaller space.
The soft neutrals in this rug could add just the right amount of soothing color to a room that's both modern and traditional at the same time.
If you live in a place that's overcast, this is a delightful, cheery rug you'll be happy to see every day. Speaking from personal experience, I can guarantee that you won't tire of the beautiful design.
This one is perhaps the best deal in the ideabook: a beautiful, soft, hand-tufted rug for under $400. Whether in your living room or a bedroom, it's a graphic neutral that will add visual interest to an otherwise bland space.
This is another fabulous, citrus-inspired tilework rug — who knew that after much research one could find so many lovelies? This one sure packs a lot of punch!
