| The inspiration for this kitchen primarily came from Kirby and Ryan's love of mid-century-modern style, which permeates the rest of this home in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Because the kitchen is such an open space, they wanted it to blend with the living and dining rooms. "Everything just flowed for us," says Kirby. "We loved picking out materials and colors." | Removing the wall itself wasn't that difficult, but it did end up presenting some challenges because the south wall was all windows. This made the installation of any upper cabinetry impossible. Kirby and Ryan skipped the overhead cabinets and went with large drawers and cabinets, making plenty of room for all of their glasses and plates. The kitchen also has a big walk-in pantry.
