I like the idea of plantings in and around this pathway;it makes it easy to access the gardens to do work like weed pulling or harvesting crops.- Christina
I like this idea as well.
We could do something like this and grow squash, cucumbers, beans, kiwi, or maybe 2 different plants in the trellis.
I think fence is our best bet to keep the deer out. I like this one because it's kind of decorative and it doesn't give off a "keep out" feel, it looks more decorative and inviting. - Christina
Here's another -Christina
I was also thinking maybe we could incorporate bamboo in our design. Maybe if we use a fence we could edge a side of the fence with bamboo for more privacy, or maybe we could edge the electric car charging station/parking. The bamboo will serve as a screen and then it could be used like at halka to tie up the veggies in the garden that need support. The bamboo could be cut down once a year in the late winter/early spring, and there would be fresh stalks every year. T the only problem would be keeping it from"running"/growing in areas we don't want it to grow, but since we have the farm site I don't think the maintenance of it would be a big deal. - Christina

AAJ--Clever way to reuse old windows.
AAJ--I love that the veggies are being highlighted like ornamentals rather than simply as crops
AAJ--great way to grow fruit in smaller spaces
AAJ--I think it would be neat if we could incorporate a small pizza oven and work table. DF could use it for educational programs where kids get to pick some fresh veggies and use them to make pizza outside.
I think grapes or some type of fruiting vine on a trellis would look great in an edible garden design. JL
this is what I was talking about like how to plant more in the smaller space. cucumbers or beans could be grown on the trellis and cabbage or lettuce under, and that will also provide the climate difference so the leaves of the lettuce dont fry in the sun like we were talking about today - Christina
What about something like this for those pockets we were talking about within the circles that come off of the garden - Christina
