I love rich, saturated and luscious color, and I was not disappointed at Fall 2011's High Point Market. Colors this year are bright and vibrant. One of my favorite colors is purple, leaning toward the plummy tones. I hope you love purple too, because like it or not, here it comes! Purple was everywhere and on everything! This stunning chandelier from Cyan also comes in red or turquoise, but purple is currently their best seller.
A contemporary wingback chair from Selva is sumptuous in deep purple cut velvet. This upholstery fabric would work just as well on a very traditional piece.
Warming up to purple, but don't want anything very bright? You might like a more muted shade like this soft, brownish purple. It looks particularly sophisticated with silver and gray. From Oly.
| If you are timid about color, then using a strong black and white theme will allow you to add a hit of color in as small or large a dose as you feel comfortable using. If bright orange is too much, you can tone it down to a soft shade and blend it with brown and beige for a very warm feeling. At Vanguard.

If you liked the first room with its raspberry walls and citron chairs, but you just can't bring yourself to go the full Monty with all of that color, then this pretty lamp may be just right for you. Notice how the pink lining reflects onto the citron base creating a lovely blend of the two colors. From The Natural Light.

Deb Kapteyn This reminds me of one of my first apartments. I painted the walls a deep eggplant purple, the carpet was a light beige, and my couch was leopard print... it took almost 5 coats of white to cover it when I moved out :)
