Wood-burning stoves remind me of my grandparents’ house when I was a kid: they had a huge, antique one sitting on a brick hearth in their living room. Since they long ago moved from that house and I don’t recall seeing many since, I’ve always associated wood-burning stoves with things of the past. However, that couldn’t be more inaccurate: These heating appliances are abundant today, and they're available in a range of modern styles designed to be much more clean-burning.
Of course, adding a wood-burning stove isn’t quite as simple as tossing a new throw blanket into your interior, but if you’re renovating or considering an alternate heat source, check out the following interior designs to see if one might work for you.
